Géza T. Biró
Géza T. Biró was born in Hungary in 1919. He attended the Royal Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest and graduated with top honours. After the Second World War, he participated in the country's efforts to save and restore war-damaged historic monuments and art treasures. During the 50's, he began appearing in national exhibitions with his own work. Between 1960 and 1965, he painted and exhibited in Austria and Sweden. Moving to Canada in 1967, he spent the rest of his life exploring the North American landscape. In the process, he adapted his European heritage to his new artistic intentions. He traveled and painted throughout Quebec and New England, Newfoundland and the Canadian Arctic.
Biró's paintings are represented in many corporate and private collections in Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
